KTRU Outdoor Show Lineup Announced

In case you thought the Free Press Summerfest was the only hotly-anticipated local festival-type deal still to come this spring/summer — yep, we’re fast approaching the annual, awesomely fun (and free, which is always cool) KTRU Outdoor Show, coming up Saturday, April 9th.

And in honor of the show being in its 20th(!) year, the lineup announced tonight is expanded from years past, stretching across two stages in the Rice University Central Quad & the Rice Memorial Center’s Grand Hall, with a darn cool lineup on each.

• Real Estate
• Ducktails
• Sundress
• {Grandfather Child}
• {Young Mammals}
• {The Tontons}
• {Wicked Poseur}
• {Fat Tony}
• As-yet-undecided winner of the Rice Battle of the Bands

I haven’t heard anything by Ducktails or Real Estate, but I’ve liked what I’ve heard by Sundress & headliner Washed Out, and the local folks are uniformly badass, seriously. Hell, I’d check this out just to see Grandfather Child play again.

Anyway, the show kicks off at 1PM, and again, it’s free, along with free St. Arnold’s for the of-age folks; mark the calendar, eh?
