Free Press Summerfest 2010 Lineup Announced

Well, the lineup for this year’s Free Press Summerfest was announced in a quasi-mysterious way today (and no, I didn’t hang out in the park by the Menil to find out, sorry), and I’ve really got only three words to describe it: Holy. Fucking. Shit. I mean, how else can I react to see a bill that’s got The Flaming Fucking Lips as headliners, not to mention bands like the Cro-Mags, The Detroit Cobras, & Mix Master Mike? That’s pretty badass.

I know some folks probably consider the FPH gang “competition” for SCR, but that’s crap; whatever’s good for music in this city is good for everybody, as far as I’m concered. Hats off to Omar & crew for pulling these things off. Hopefully I’ll be able to check it out again this year…
