Cool Hip-Hop Album Release/Benefit Show, Tomorrow

Got an email a little while back from H-town rapper t.h.e. MisFit Crazy8 about his official release party for brand-new album State of Emergency, and I wanted to give it a quick mention here, because it sounds like a cool deal…

The show itself is tomorrow, Thurs., April 21st, over at The Mink, and while I’m not real familiar with openers Black Faction, Havok Music, EDG, or {Jamal HD}, I’ve been listening a bit to t.h.e. MisFit himself, and I’m pretty impressed. The production’s nicely old-school — almost Terminator X-style at points — with a fast, quick-thinking lyrical flow that’s halfway to Seven’s Travels-era Atmosphere in its delivery.

Best of all, the whole thing’s a benefit show of sorts — t.h.e. MisFit’s set it up in part for his album release, but also to raise money for Covenant House Texas, a place that gives shelter & help to homeless kids and runaways. Definitely a worthy cause; check it out, eh?
