Growing Pains…

Hey, all — apologies for the confusion, but we’ve had to make some changes to the fledgling Space City Rock WordPress site (which is what you’re looking at right now), so things may not look quite like they’re supposed to just yet.

Apparently the way we had things set up previously, our ISP was getting hammered with a ridiculous number of server hits — which is great, from a traffic standpoint, but it caused the ISP to suspend the site ’til we could change some things to reduce the load. (Which explains why, if you visited the site within the past hour or so, you might’ve seen a big ugly “Site Suspended” page instead of our pretty green-white-and-red design.)

There shouldn’t be too big a difference to how the site looks & behaves, really; the only real difference is that we’ve had to go to the folder-style permalinks for all our posts, reviews, etc. — before, if you wanted to see the review of Omotai‘s Peace Through Fear, for example, the link would’ve looked like this:

Now, however, it’ll look like this:

Which, honestly, probably makes more sense and will certainly be a little less arbitrary than a bunch of numbers. If you’ve got anything linked to the old format, the link should still work, I think, but if you’re linking to something specific, use the folder-ish style, if you could.

Also, if you do happen to notice something that looks screwy(-er than usual), please let us know, either by commenting in this post or sending me an email at “gaijin” at “spacecityrock dot com”, and we’ll try to get it fixed. I suspect that the permalink switch could bollix up stuff that we haven’t yet looked at…

Thanks for your patience! Hopefully one of these days this thing’ll actually be stable…

Word. But can I convince you to change your link shade a bit? It get’s hard to read on the schedule w/that white background. Maybe darker. Pls?

*sigh*. Yeah, I’d thought we could stick with the tried-and-true “old” colors, but yeah, the light-colored links against the white are damned hard to read. Going to try to tweak ’em a bit, I promise…

Just make ’em a lil darker. Doesn’t have to be too drastic.
