Westheimer Block Party II - Electric Boogaloo [5/25/2006 08:18:00 PM]:
Hey, folks; in case you didn't get the news in time, you should know that the first attempt at having the newest incarnation of the ol' Westheimer Street Festival, now rechristened the Westheimer Block Party, had to be called due to rain. Can't outwit that sneaky Houston weather... At any rate, the party's back on now -- the rain date is this very Saturday, May 27th, from 1-8PM. It's not quite as grandiose a deal as it used to be, I'll admit, but it's thankfully now back on Westheimer proper (right around Taft, at Helios, Numbers, La Strada, Black Widow, & Mango's) and features a ton of excellent, excellent local acts, from pop-rocker Arthur Yoria to the indie hip-hop Studemont Project to the countrified Sean Reefer & the Resin Valley Boys. It should be a lot of fun, and hey, hopefully the Hare Krishnas and burly guys carrying pythons will make an appearance. It'd be just like The Good Old Days...

Starting May Off Early [5/04/2006 10:25:00 PM]:
Yeah, we know it hasn't been very long since the last update, but we've been feeling like we need to push some more stuff out quick, seeing as April was a relatively light month. At any rate, there're now new reviews up of Crystal Skulls (coming to H-town 5/5/06, by the way), The Essex Green (coming to town 5/11/06; it's gonna be a busy month...), Mudhoney, Daryl Waits, The Get Hustle, & more. Enjoy...
