Our team.

MARSHALL ARMINTOR (Reviewer): Marshall lives in Denton, where he paints fences and listens to Princess Superstar.

--

DAVID A. COBB (Reviewer): David A. Cobb spends most of his day stuck behind a desk at his day job, yet the writing he does in his spare time is what he really enjoys. David runs Houston Calling, a online music column that is part of the donewaiting.com community, and InMyEar, an online music site and email music list. You can read David's reviews and musings in Space City Rock, Swizzle-Stick.com, and Houston Press. Visit his website (and its various offspring) at www.otterco.com.

JUSTIN CRANE (Contributing Writer): Justin Crane may have been born during the turbulent years following the fall of the Basque monarchy of Navarre, but the exact details of his birth have been concealed from scrutiny by an order of secretive Capucin monks. His voice can be heard in the high-bandwidth electromagnetic fields hovering over the vicinity of Rice University (usually on Tuesdays) ‚ one of his many strange and mysterious talents. He sometimes likes to rock out, and he probably doesn't like you.

--

Alicia, triumphantly playing to a capacity crowd at Wembley ALICIA CROWDER (Contributing Writer): It is difficult to define the mysteries of Alicia. While some people call her the Goddess of Men and Food, others refuse to call her at all. She is a reader, a writer, a lover, and shežs coming soon to a theatre near you.

--

DOUG DILLAMAN (Contributing Writer): Doug Dillaman has very little objective reality around him right now. What can be verified is that he lives in Portland, plays music, writes, gets entirely too obsessive about movies, and may or may not have a job, depending on your definition of job. His leisure activities include yard work on his new house, feeding his cat Bones, and writing about himself in the third person. Other rumors you've heard can be confirmed or denied by writing "doug" at "boomvang dot com".

--

Ruben looking paranoid and twitchy RUBEN DOMINGUEZ (Contributing Writer): Ruben Dominguez has loved loud, distorted guitars since he was a little shrimp growing up in NYC. Hobbies: playing guitar, writing reviews, watching drag racing, reading, scuba diving. Prized Possesion: a guitar signed by all the members of the Pixies.

 CHARLIE EBERSBAKER (Reviewer)

Jeremy with his eyes closed, like a big dork JEREMY HART (Editor/Co-Publisher): Jeremy Hart was born in Washington state, but that was a long time ago, and he now gets very "Texan" when he travels to other states. He obsesses about music, movies, and politics to the detriment of the rest of his life, travels as much as possible, sometimes plays guitar and tries to make up songs, writes okay, and surfs badly. He's recently taken a stab at writing for other e-zines and magazines (the Houston Press, HERE Magazine, Get Lost Magazine, Far & Near, and a little political deal he calls Something's Got to Break), but SCR remains his first love, even if he's too damn lazy to work on it half the time. He got the hook-up.

--

JESSICA HILDEBRANDT (Reviewer): Jessica Hildebrandt is not your typical alt-goth opera singer. In fact, she's not one at all. An inventor by trade (notable creations include The Internet and oxygen), she does a little writing on the side to escape the doldrums of her virtual prison, aka "day job". She is currently held captive by a 4'4" tall evil overlord and his triad of hellbeasts, and is in preliminary negotiations with E! for her own True Hollywood Story segment.

--

Marc trying to look cool on TV MARC HIRSH (Co-Publisher/Contributing Writer): Jeopardy! champion Marc Hirsh is a survivor of The Rice Thresher and The Public News and expects to outlast Space City Rock, the print version of which he placed directly into Sleater-Kinney guitarist Carrie Brownstein's hands. His musical and songwriting skills will eventually bring him Fountains Of Wayne-scaled musical adulation, but not today. He has a brand new Master's degree from a fancy east coast university, no job and no earthly idea of what he wants to do with his life. He is currently single, ladies.

--

Mel House, serious musician MEL HOUSE (Co-Publisher/Contributing Writer): Mel is a independent filmmaker based in Houston, TX, with many feature films, music videos, and commercials to his credit. His current project, Fade To Black, is scheduled to debut at the Austin Film Festival in October. Mel is also the guitarist in the band Pierce Elevated. And he likes DVDs, comic books, and Knight Rider. (You can write to him at "upstartfilm" at "pdq dot net".)

Annie Lin makes her mean face! ANNIE LIN (Reviewer): Annie Lin is proud to introduce both gender and racial diversity to the masthead of SCR. She spends a lot time doing this (www.annielin.com) and that (www.ariadnerecords.com), and when she's not doing either of those things, this (www.law.uh.edu) eats up the rest of her time. In the free time that she plainly lacks, Annie likes to ride her bike around Montrose, silkscreen and sew her own tshirts, bake apple cake, dig through record store bargain bins, and continue searching for a guy who shaves regularly and can tell the difference between an endash and an emdash and can call an ampersand when he sees one.

--

Conor back in his college days CONOR PRISCHMANN (Reviewer): Conor Prischmann was born in Fargo, North Dakota, a town made famous by extreme cold and Fargo. He was converted to the one true religion, music, while at KTRU Houston 91.7 FM, and has led a monastic existence since that time, although not by choice. He makes frequent monetary offerings to the great Amoeba in the hopes of obtaining eternal bliss. He also makes music of his own, supposedly.

--

SHAWN RAMESHWAR (Reviewer): Shawn has lived in Houston since the age of five. During middle school he was introduced to punk and never looked back. His first "show" was Dead Horse @ the Axiom. Ten billion shows later he decided it was time to give something back to the town/scene which gave him so many inspiring moments over the years. He is currently a multi-instrumentalist member of the newly formed band "over sea, under stone" which you can check out at www.overseaunderstone.com. Currently he is listening to; Long Fin Killie, Trans Am, Tortoise, TV on the Radio, American Analog Set, Broman, Johnny Cash, etc.

--

A self-portrait of Bob BOB WALL (Reviewer): Bob Wall is a complete goon and goof. He is not to be taken seriously. He loves all types of music and has enough experience to know the difference between pop and plop. A veteran of the Minneapolis, Houston, and Biloxi(?) music scenes he has wrapped up enough speaker cables to appreciate live music scenes and will be there when Houston finally becomes a better live music venue than Sheboygan or Floydada or Orfordville. He is the Traveling Secretary for Analgesic Studios and the Executive V.P. for Lake Livingston Cargo and Cartage.
