Tomorrow: ZenHill Records Night at Fitz

Yep, we’re pretty darn impressed with the good people over at ZenHill Records. It’s partly because, hey, they’re from here and are working to support bands (mostly) from here, and we dig that, but even more than that, we like ’em because they happen to have damn good taste.

They’ve been cheerfully snatching up excellent, excellent bands from these parts, many of whom we like quite a bit, like Roky Moon & BOLT!, {The Sideshow Tramps}, {Southern Backtones}, {The Wheel Workers}, & {Winter Wallace}. Hell, there’re only a couple of people on the label’s roster we’re not fans of, and that’s only because we haven’t heard ’em yet. Everything else is golden.

So it’s very cool to see that tomorrow night, Friday, March 9th, the ZenHill crew will be taking over Fitzgerald’s for their first-ever “ZenHill Records Night” at the club. They’re bringing along pretty much everybody I just mentioned, plus a solo set from Tramps frontman {Craig Kinsey}, all for a mere $10.

It’s going to be an awesome lineup, honestly, from here or anywhere. I’ve been meaning to see The Wheel Workers for a while now, myself, especially after Jason Smith‘s interview with the band a while back, and I’ve been bowled over by the most recent releases from several of the rest, namely Roky Moon & BOLT!’s stellar American Honey, the Sideshow Tramps’ bone-rattling Revelator, and, most recently, the Backtones’ Goth-Western-rawk opus La Vie En Noir. And while I haven’t heard it all the way through myself Dre Giles had good things to say about Wallace’s Holiday.

Trust me, this is going to be a good night. Go, relax, and rock the hell out.
