Ben Weasel Loses His Shit, Then Loses His Band

I can’t say I’m all that surprised by the whole Ben Weasel debacle at SXSW this past week — I mean, the guy basically made his name by being a belligerent, in-your-face asshole, from what I can remember of the band’s early days (part of the reason I was never much of a fan, honestly). That said, the whole thing’s ridiculous and pathetic; you’re going to beat somebody up because they threw an ice cube at you? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I’m not going to rehash the whole thing — see Craig Hlavaty‘s {Houston Press} post about it (with pretty decent video) on over here for that — but I just ran across a blurb on Punknews.org that in the wake of all of it, the other members of Screeching Weasel have now resigned. Yeowch.
