ZenHill Records

A new record label in town, and definitely a promising one; it’s a joint venture between Dan Workman of H-town’s legendary SugarHill Studios and Ross Wells of Zenfilm, and the idea’s apparently to act as more of an “incubator” to help bands/musicians (currently from here, but whether it’ll stay that way’s anyone’s guess) make it big. They’re vowing to make sure bands don’t go into debt or lost the rights to their own music, which is a major point in my book (although I don’t think bands on most indie labels have to worry about that, anyway).

The roster’s already looking good, with the Southern Backtones, Winter Wallace, and most recently, The Tontons all signing up. Got my fingers crossed that the label will put out some good stuff.

So good to have you there, Dre! I don’t know if you read
it, but your article touches on each of the points and comments I
made in my studio log entry. Weird/cool/maybe not surprising at
    all!

Dre, thanks for documenting the experience so well. Great article … I learned things about the session I didn’t know from being there. Thanks for being a part of a really incredible experience. Let’s do it again soon!

The sax player’s name is Arthur. He works at Antidote. Kind of funny the pictures in the article are of the extra session players and not any of the core band.

There were no ‘extra session players’ in the session. Arthur, and the backup singers, perform regularly with RM&B! live.
