Free Press Summerfest Schedule + New Headliner Announced [5/01/2010 09:46:00 PM]:
Not sure if this'll go up before the Blogger cutoff, but hey, it's worth a shot...

Earlier today the Free Press Houston gang pulled back the curtain and revealed some new details about the upcoming Free Press Summerfest (June 5-6). And honestly, it's kind of a mixed bag, for me.

First and foremost, they've now got Houston/Beaumont rap legend Bun B playing, alongside Slim Thug. While that's cool and all, and I do love Bun B, well...I guess I was expecting somebody a little more, um, rare. I mean, Bun played here in town just a week or so ago, from what I hear, guesting with Paul Wall & Chamillionaire. It might be my imagination, but he sure seems to play 'round here pretty regularly, y'know?

What I'm more psyched about, personally, is that Prince Paul will be headlining the official Warehouse Live Summerfest After Parties (along with The Hood Internet); that's a pretty badass addition, if you ask me, but then, I was once a big Gravediggaz fan, and both Stetsasonic and Handsome Boy Modeling School are/were dang good...

Also cool is the fact that the FPHers now have the full festival schedule up online for all to see -- there're even more cool-ass bands listed now than when they originally announced the lineup, and that's no bad thing... Seriously, $30 is still damn cheap for all of this, folks.
