Yr Weekend, Pt. 3: Addendum Time (Wild Moccasins + Somosuno + Resonant Sound) [10/17/2009 02:24:00 PM]:
Dangit, this is what happens when I try to be good and not obsessively check my email all damn day long: I miss things. And yes, for the last "Yr Weekend" post, I did indeed miss a few things, both for tonight's (Sat., 10/17) shows and tomorrow's (Sun., 10/18). Here's the errata/ addendum-type stuff, y'all:

Sat., October 17:
Young Mammals/ Woozyhelmet/ Somosuno @ Mango's (free!)
Looks like the Young Mammals guys were able to find a third band to fill the space vacated by Thee Oh Sees when they bailed on tonight's show; now Somosuno will also be playing (first, looks like), and while I dunno what they sound like, I've heard good-good things...

Sun., October 18:
The Wild Moccasins @ Discovery Green (3-5PM; free!)
Crap, crap, crap -- how did I not know about this? sigh. Thanks to homeboy Pedro for the heads-up on this one, which sounds to be pretty awesome; I'm a huuuuuge fan of The Wild Moccasins, and I honestly think their sunny, shiny pop gets better and more polished/interesting every time I see 'em, so it's great that they'll be playing at Discovery Green for all the families & whatnot who hang out up there.

Resonant Interval Sound Series, featuring Lance & The Pants & Doggebi @ 2808 Milam (7:30PM; $5)
For this one, it turns out I didn't get the latest, most up-to-date-est information as to who's playing -- apparently it's not going to be just Michelle Yom herself, but Doggebi, which is this bizarro thing with her doing terrifying things on the flute while longtime H-town scene-dweller Spike The Percussionist, um, beats on things. What I've heard scares the shit out of me, but in a good way.

Also, the Resonant Interval Sound Series now has its own Website, from which I was able to pilfer the flyer over there on the right. Oh, and if you're wondering where the hell this thing is, it'll be at what used to be Tropioca Teahouse, next door to Khon's Bar in Midtown. Cool, eh?

Okay, now that's it. I mean it this time...
