It's so weird to see someone talking about us! But that's what makes you awesome, man. Prairie Cadets is not recording, but we've got plans in the works. Hopefully we'll be getting in a studio real soon to lay some stuff down so that people will have a better idea of our sound. Hope you can make it out on Friday.

Personally, I think Ghost Mountain needs to play a lot more. One, because they're awesome, and two because they could use a little work on the stage presence. I got the vibe that Daniel was a little nervous - felt like he hid some of the vocals and held back a bit. But it was their 4th show. And their 2nd was the "A Family Light" release in Jan 2008. Which means they had one show between the two Buxton releases. Honestly, that's atrocious. They need to play twice a month in town. It'll both make them better and give them the exposure they deserve.

- Marc

Dang...I must've been standing in the magical sounding-good spot, then -- I was honestly surprised at how much I could hear.

Of course, it may be a case of reduced expectations to begin with; knowing the place is a restaurant, I probably wasn't looking for Warehouse Live-like sound... ;^)

And thanks for the kind words!

The sound sucked ass. Never heard any of these bands live before, but I got the ArtStorm Summer Comp and was intrigued by Buxton's unique sound. They didn't disappoint - and Wild Moccasins kicked ass, too - but I couldn't make out a word that I didn't previously know from either of these two great bands. So, I bought last year's Buxton record, took my new 7" and left after three songs, drenched in sweat. I hadn't been to that venue for a show since it was called The Oven, and I ain't going back for one ever again, either. Maybe for lunch. Or a drink on a non-show day. Great review otherwise, tho.
