The Western Civ Takes Canada (and Boondocks, 11/10) [11/02/2008 12:36:00 AM]:
As we mentioned a while back, an abbreviated version of local cool kids The Western Civilization, including just Reggie, Rachel, & a boombox, drove on up recently to The Great White North (aka Canada) to play the Halifax Pop Explosion festival. Reggie says the show went great, with the duo playing to a packed house & on the bill with two Juno Award noms -- very cool. Here's hoping the W. Civ doesn't get swayed northwards...

Anyway, the pair's still doing shows up that way, but they've compiled and sent back a video blog that pulls together moments from the trip so far (and, of course, badass Western Civ songs, including some I'm pretty sure I've never heard before) & is pretty entertaining to watch. Check it out below...

Acoustic Tour Video Blog #1 - October 2008

Dang; just watching the footage makes me realize how damn long it's been since I saw these folks (and how sad that makes me). Thankfully, Reggie, Rachel, and the rest of the crew will be back home soon, btw, and will be playing their welcome-home show on Monday, November 10th at Boondocks. They'll be playing with Cedar Boy Bailey, which is this reportedly-odd thing Sergio from Buxton does, and fellow Western Civ-er Gretchen Schmaltz, who is an excellent singer/songwriter in her own right. Definitely, definitely worth checking out...
